crook neck squash with sweet onions. the 2 flavors meld so well together. use a little butter and sugar and sautée the 2 together until tender cover through most of the cooking time until the last few minutes to cook off any liquid

cabbage, you can eat it raw, cooked, half cooked and fried, boiled, steamed, roasted .. it can be a vegetable, pickle and jam (jelly) it goes well with other meats and veggies and can be eaten alone with hot melted butter over it .. and I believe it is even good for you

Sweet onions. (vidalia in particular). They can be added to any other vegetable to perk it up. They make a delicious soup (french onion). You can batter and deep fry them, bake and stuff them, slice them onto burgers, add them to almost any dish to add a bit of zing. carmalize them to go with meat-the possibilities are almost endless!!
Corn, cause it taste good.
Nothing beats corn cobs with butter during any season of the year. The first few years of my life was spent in a rural setting and I learned to appreciate having this treat straight from the cob.
