Is it allowed to send food parcels from the UK to America? I want to send a friend a jar of Marmite!?!
Don't do something stupid like say book when it obviously isn't... and marmite obviously isn't. No surer way to p*ss off the customs folks LOL
Answers: Should be fine for that. I used to get sent food parcels to Miami when I worked there on the cruise ships. Biccies, jams, sweets and tea were their usual contents (I totally ruled the black market in Caramacs and Fry's Creme at christmas LOL). They only get uppity with fresh produce really.

Vegemite is often sent to relatives and friends from Australia to America. You just need to declare the contents of the package.
I'm sure that will be OK AS LONG AS THE "SEAL" isn't broken.
Don't you like your friend very much then ?........xxx
when my sister was in south america i would often be asked to send marmite and smarties. she told me to write BOOK on the outside of the package in large letters, it always worked.
when i was living in france i used to miss heinz baked beans and garibaldi biscuits!
My parents and friends send me food parcels to Australia from the UK including Marmite, ( cause have you ever tried Vegimite? yuck!) and it's been fine through customs so far and Australia has hard core importing laws. I think as long as your not sending fruit or veg you'll be fine.
Hmmm.....I do know the U.S are very strict about certain things like veg & meat products and don't like you sending food that contains even meat protein in it so you might be best emailing the U.S Customs dept first.
