Are fruits and vegetables chaeaper at the farmers market then sams club?!
Answers: I need to buy fruits and vegetables for some platters and i have never been to a farmer's market before. The last farmers market is at the end of the month so do sellers sell their produce at a fraction of the cost or what? Should I just go to sam's club? Which one is cheaper?
At a farmers' market the produce generally has just come from the field to the farmers' market, so it's generally fresher than anything you'll find at Sam's Club or any other market. Considering that you get BETTER produce at the farmer's market it's usually worthwhile to purchase your produce there. I notice that the prices sometimes are LESS than at the chain markets. Unfortunately the farmers' markets aren't on our schedule so you'll have to make your decision when to buy to have your platter fresh when it's called for..
ofcourse...everything is cheaper at the farmers market
Farmers Market by far would be cheaper. Sams Club, although does offer cheap prices, they cannot compete with the farmers market. The farmers arket there is no shipping costs, handling costs ect. Plus at a farmers market, you would be getting a much fresher product, supportning your local farmer, and getting a product that hasn't been altered or dosed in food grade wax to help preserve it.
I can't answer your question and I have nothing to do with farmers or farming. But I can tell you that I would pay more to the farmer, and I have no idea if there is any difference in price between the farmer or the supermarket, for not only the freshness but to not have what I buy handled by that many fewer people.
Most things will be about the same price and perhaps cheaper. All the produce at the farmers market should be far fresher and much higher quality as Sam's/wal-mart has the lowest quality of produce I have ever eaten.
by buying at your local farmers market you will be supporting local farmers and keeping the money you spent in your community. Spend at Sam's and most of the money you spend leaves the local community
