Does salt contain starch ? why or why not ?!

Question: Some brands of salt may contain small amounts of additives to prevent caking, to add iodine (a necessary nutrient which is also found in salt-water fish and seaweed) or perhaps to make the salt stick to foods, such as packaged nuts. In that case, a bit of starch could be added.
Pure salt does not contain starch.
A very simple test for starch is to put a drop of iodine solution on the food: if it leaves a blue or purple mark (as opposed to the brown iodine-in-water color), it indicates starch. Bread has so much starch that the blue stain looks almost black.
