Microwave ready meals?!

Question: they're fantastic but why do they insist on putting whopping great chunks of meat in instead of bite sized pieces?
i thought the idea was so that lazy people could eat them one handed whist watching tv or p*ssing around on the pc. i get quite hacked off fighting tooth and fork and would much prefer the chicken to be more evenly distributed throughout the curry/risotto for a more satisfying yet compulsory experience.

is it meant to be appetising to see these 'real' lumps of meat on your plate or pure laziness on the manufacturers part?

The reason for putting the lumps of "meat" in the meals is twofold.. One, so it can seem like you're getting a deal (just look at all that 'meat')and the other is so they can advertise that 'those other guys' skimp on their "meat".. It doesn't make sense though, you're right. People don't buy those because they WANT to have to hack away at their meal, they want to not have to think about it after it's out of the microwave.
ahhhh can't stand them.
there lazy and thay cant be arsed to cut it up lol
is this a serious question?
microwaves nuke all the nutrients out of the food.
Woah dude, don't wanna freak you out here but don't by microwave meals with meat in! Apparantly they're injecting the chickens with some new kind of chemical that's causing a hell of a lot of problems in humans. Some kind of illness that I can't actually remember the name of xD. But really, I'd avoid them! Processed meat is never any good.
The more important question is what KIND of meat are you actually eating? Did it in reality bark or meow at one time?
it also would make more sense to make the chunks smaller to make it easier and safer to heat it up. that was the problem with the pot pies that the microwave did not heat the chix and the turkey hot enough to kill the salmonella. i agree smaller please.
take bigger bites....
These meals are not good just look at the ingredients !
The chunks are just full of chemicals and drugs to make the animal grow quicker !
Buy some real meat or even better kill your own,
you will have more understanding of these things then !
Yes I knows exactly what you mean! It does seem really stupid and it does not taste good, and I do not think it looks appetising in the slightest!
i dont think so,
maybe just that most people like them bigger.
Buy some boneless filets of chicken breast or other tender meat. Make sure they are thawed out. Put them in a glass dish with a little water. Put some salt and pepper on them. Microwave for 6-7 minutes per piece. Microwave ready meals are usually crap, unless you get into expensive ones. You pay for the manpower to prepare this stuff.
there are some readymeals that have the meat in smaller pieces (there's this chicken dish I love that has that) and there's always things like fish and such that can be taken apart with just a fork. if you want "real" meat, you'll have to content with using a knife too in most cases.

I should know, I just about LIVE on ready meals! (I'm a terrible cook!)
Some people are HUGE carnavores(sp?), so companies make things with huge amounts of meat in them. I'm really picky with my food and I'm vegetarion so I hate those, but I still hate the macoroni and cheese micowavable things to! There's lots of diffrent kinds, so experiment with them. Otherwise I really don't know what else you can say.
I'm gutted mine blew up last week.
Can't believe you are for real. How can anyone really enjoy MW meals compared to home cooking? In an emergency yes but go on it's almost as quick for you to do some pasta or similar.
The chunks are bigger so that you can't taste all of the chemicals and by-products in the meal.
no good for you!
It's for people with big gobs like me honey hahahahahaaa
