Is making healthy food cheaper working, and do you think it will have any effect on the public?!

Question: I hope that making healthy food much cheaper gets everyone eating a lot more healthy.

Answers: I hope that making healthy food much cheaper gets everyone eating a lot more healthy.
Eventually i hope,It wont happen overnight.
as soon as everyone starts to eat everything healthy a new report will show that it is damaging our health.
No, the chav parents will still be feeding there kids sausages , pasties, pies and crisps ,better off putting more tax on junk food and less on fresh fruit and veg.
I try and give my boys a mixture - treats and traditional - ie roasts - both are really good eaters - think it is better for their health and ours (even though my hubbie still does not know i add veg to everything!!!!)

We are applying for an allotment - and have a veg patch in the garden - i think it is good to show our children that veg does not come from a freezer or can - and it is cheaper and healthier and tastier!
Cap_de_m you are probably right, we can't do anything without being told it is bad for you, even healthy food

I think it shouldn't matter if it is cheaper or not, we should all change our eating habits, for a start, why not get rid of McDonald's and others of that ilk.. I read every label, to at least try and buy better food.. But it is cheaper to bake and cook at home from scratch, then you know exactly what is in it..

BTW did you know, that frozen veg such as peas and beans have all their vitamins and do count in your 5 a day portions?
Currently most healthy food is digusting. Our school has recently had to get rid of all chocolate and full fat milk as it is too fattening. I think the government has gone too far as there are no obese children in our school.
Making healthy food cheaper is a good thing but it will not stop many parents feeding their children junk food as many ready meals that are high in saturated fat are easy to make when a parent works a lot, is incredibly busy or just cannot be bothered. So yes and no it will help some people but will not change the ways of others.
I only hope that making healthier foods cheaper should help all those tubbies lose a lot more weight and ease the strain off the NHS.
