What does rabbit taste like?!

Question: It tastes NOTHING like chicken - it tastes like Rabbit!! Rabbit has a flavour all its own and it makes a big difference how old the rabbit is. Young rabbits (kittens they are called) taste really delicous and very tender with just a mild suggestion of game - but older rabbits - especialy bucks - are plain awful to eat - REALLY strong game taste and smell pretty off putting to. SO - good young ones is the way to go and the best ways to eat them are - casserols, vol a vents, pies, (all where the meat has been well sliced diced and cooked well in flavourings - baking a whole rabbit unless very young is about the worst way to taste rabbit for the first time and can be really tough - use casserol or pie recipies as though it were chicken you were using are best.

Yes, it tastes like rabbit. It is difficult to compare to other meat, especially since everyone tastes things a little differently. I found that the best way to prepare it is with to toss it in a crock pot with onions, potatoes, carrots, celery, and a bay leaf. The texture is similar to chicken, but it has a unique flavor of its own, and will vary depending on the rabbits diet and whether or not it's wild or farm raised.
To me, tame rabbit is as good if not better than chicken. Wild rabbit, I don't care for. Never have eaten wild rabbit that it didn't taste wild, no matter what the cook did to it.
