Does popcorn count as a vegetable?!

Question: Does popcorn (air-popped in a machine with no added ingredients) count toward my '5-a-day'? (i.e. 5 portions of fruit & veg per day)

A good handful of dried fruit counts, so what about popcorn? How much constitutes a portion?

It doesn't count towards your "5 a day" for a veegetable, but a 3 cup serving of it does count as a serving of whole grains. It's recommended we eat six servings of whole grains a day. Popcorn is considered to be a very healthy snack, provided it's not loaded with added fats or salt.
popcorn is not a vegetable dude
Popcorn possesses fantastic health benefits. Popcorn is loaded with fiber and has only 108 calories per 2 quarts of air popped corn. Popcorn is on the National Cancer Institution & American Cancer Society healthy choice list.
