What is a good way to keep fresh cilantro and green onions, etc?!


Question: You know, the fresh veggie section at the store, you buy the cilantro, green onions, lettuce, etc, put it in a plastic baggie and then what? My cilantros get slimmy fast...Any good way to keep them in the fridge? Thanx!

Wrap in a damp paper towel and put in a zip baggie. But hurry up and eat it because it's not going to last long. If you run across a good deal and get a lot. Chop and freeze for cooking later. It will be limp after thawing, but all the flavor will be there.
Wrap them in a damp paper towel and place in the refrigerator. Don't use a baggies, the plastic cause it to go bad. Just use the paper towel.
If you want to keep cilantro really fresh, clip the bottom stems and put it in water in the refrigerator just like a flower.

As to green onions you have good advice
