Why does pasteurized half & half last over a month, while milk only lasts about 10 days?!

Question: My half & half says it's "ultra-pasteurized" and lasts over a month... why can't they do this to regular milk so it lasts more than 8-10 days?

Pasteurization is heating the milk to a certain temperature. They can go to a higher temp with cream because of the fat content. If they do it with milk, if would give it a yellowish color and change the taste a bit.
because it is paseurized... meaning, it has been sterilized further eliminating the certain bacteria that cause milk from getting bad...
