check out shows like "Secret life of...." or "Unwrapped" that show how certain foods are made. I'm sure they have done shows on gummy worms. Check out the site on www.foodtv.com

Gummi candy was invented in 1920 by the Haribo company of Germany. The original shape was the bear. Due to the success of the gummi bear, other shapes have become popular, including the gummi worm. Trolli is another well known gummi manufacturer. They introduced their gummi bears in 1981.
