Why do people eat chicken and not roosters?!

Question: im just curious

Answers: im just curious

I am a former chef and male chickens are called "capons", and when there hatched and sexed at the pullet farms there are more females than males.

Plus if we ate all the males there would be no baby chicks or eggs, rooster are not as prominant, but the dish coq au vin was originally made witha rooster as it is slow cooked in a stew state with red wine, mushrooms, onions and bacon in it.

roosters have tougher meat

Quite simply. The meat from a HEN tastes better than that of roosters. (Chicken is used for both males and females)

Roosters have a different texture and taste.

Some of us don't eat c*ck.

People do just not so many in the US and the rooster has a different flavor, the most used parts of the rooster are the comb which is on top of it's head and it's feet. But like all types of chicken their organs are used a lot also.

We eat both - chicken is a general term as pork is for female and male pig - you'll never hear a waiter telling you - "today we have female rabbit for dinner" - it is not rellevant....

i think because chickens are more common then roosters, i mean more people have heard of chicken then roosters.

I don't like cocks I am lesbian lol

they do if you ask for them.get them sliced into little pieces when you buy it.cook a long time they can be tuff........
