"Streaky" Bacon?!


Question: I have often wondered, is what they call "Streaky" Bacon in the UK the same as regular bacon here in the US?


Answers: I have often wondered, is what they call "Streaky" Bacon in the UK the same as regular bacon here in the US?

In Belgium all bacon is streaky, because it's only called bacon when cut from the belly where the meat shows layers of fat and of lean flesh. In the UK cuts from the back also are called bacon.

What us Americans call Bacon, The Brits call Streaky Bacon. They are both the same thing.It just depends on what side of the Atlantic you live on
