What should I do next?!

Question: Okay, so here is the story. Last night, after eating dinner, my husband starts to clean up and put left over away. He was pouring the remaining soup into a bowl and noticed something brown floating in it and then it sank. He grabbed a spoon and dished out a piece of wood in our soup. The piece of wood is approximately 1 inch by 1 inch and is basically a piece of ply wood glued to another piece. I contacted the company that distributes this soup and they emailed me back stating that I would be notified personally by them. I have yet to be notified by anyone. I am extremely upset that my 2 1/2 year old daughter could have eaten or choked on this piece of wood. And it is not so much the wood I am worried about but instead the glue that was used to glue the two pieces together. I am going to give them 48 hrs to notify me...but in the meantime should I pursue it further. I was thinking of having the wood tested but I do not feel that I should have to pay for something like that!

Hello:

I would seek FREE legal advice about it and see what a lawyer has to say about it. MAKE SURE that you SAVE EVERYTHING from the soup from the actual soup can that it came in if that is possible,to the wood and glue that you found in the soup product. This will be crucial in having a case against this soup company, and you can show the evidence to an attorney if need be. I would write down everything that happened, sign it and date it and if possible take pictures of it too!

This way,you will proof of what you found in your food, and you will be able to have evidence of everything that you found. I would be very upset too if something like this happened to me,and I would confer with a lawyer about a time frame of how much time should pass, before you start to pursue legal action if necessary against the soup company,if they refuse to do anything about your serious concerns about this product! I wish you the best of luck and hopefully, you can get an answer as to why this wood and glue was in your food!

If you still have the can, box whatever the soup came out of keep it. It will have a lot number that will tell the company where it was produced right down to the time of day.

Next if they don't call you, call an attorney. It might even be a good idea to contact the store you purchased the soup from.

I am sure the product was perfectly safe, even though no one wants to find any foreign object in what they are eating. The company will probably offer some free products or whatever to compensate for it. Do not expect a cash settlement, and I doubt if it's worth a law suit.

Cook don't buy canned. No future problems. And you didn't see that while you were heating and stiring the soup??wow
