Is fish a meat?!

Question: I've heard that fish is not meat. That doesn't make any sense. It is animal flesh... which means it is meat? Right? What do you guys think?

Yes, It is an animal so of course. What else would it be "bread"??? LOL :) Who did you hear that from??

Yes it is

Technically it is meat and either way you are eating it from an animal whether it is red meat or white meat it is still meat.

Meat is protien. Fish is protien. So I would consider it a meat. Some vegitarians eat fish but not red meat, so they probly don't consider it a meat, but i do.

if meat is defined as animal flesh, than yes. restaurants use the terms meat and fish to separate the two main groups of entrees: meat encompasses all red meat and poultry, and fish encompasses all fish and shellfish.

yes it is

Fish is indeed a meat, but I think that the ones who originally claimed it isn't were vegitarians. If I did decide to become a vegetarian, I would still eat fish. I mean, you need protein, right?

It is a meat, but not a red meat, like chicken!

Fish is animal flesh.. to me that is MEAT.
Maybe those who say different think just because it's not a mammal it's not an animal.

To me a Vegan if you have to kill it & it bleeds it is an animal. It's got a face, eyes, brains etc.

It comes From Me eat and Fish eat culinary Food for the Nourishment of Humankind so It is !

Yup

Many vegetarians consider fish non-meat... they are deluding themselves.

In basic forms to a non cook/chef..it is a meat.

In the food industry biz, we seperate it from say red meats, poultry and seafood. Its a protein then...same as nuts .

Vegans make me laugh when they think that plants are a less a living breathing thing than say an animal. Just because it doesnt have a face and you can't pet it, doesnt make it a feeling , breathing, LIVING thing.

Let a plant die in a room full of plants and watch the rest whither with it.

Eat meat...you have teeth for a reason.

"end of rant"

It is.
