Smoked Haddock is a nice dish for a light tea , served with some fresh brown bread and butter and a nice cup of tea.
For something a bit more upmarket Salmon with a nice Hollandaisse sauce with new potatoes and green veg is tasty and very healthy
I also love fish , and when I eat out I always look to see what fish is on the menu , I like Halibut and Jake as well
If you are in the UK just do as I do and look at what fish is being served , you will normally find at least a couple of fish dishes
having been to Japan and tasted real Sushi , I also love this , well at least some of them (not Octopus !!) and I also steer clear of the very hot paste , the name of which escapes me for now
I am sure you will be very pleasantly surprised at the variety and quality of fish dishes throughout the UK
I wish you good eating.

There are so many traditional fish dishes, as you'd expect from a country with such a long coastline. Here are a few suggestions.

1. Kedgeree - made with rice, smoked haddock, hard boiled eggs with a slight flavouring of curry is delicious. Try to find the Delia Smith recipe - it is very good. Traditionally it was a breakfast dish but now is more likely to be served for lunch or supper.

2. Smoked haddock with a poached egg on top is very quick and simple. It can be made more substantial by serving it on a bed of spinach with a mild cheese sauce over the top.

3. Fish pie - which normally uses a mixture of poached fish and shellfish such as prawns or scallops, in a creamy white sauce covered with mashed potato (rather than pastry). Put breadcrumbs and grated cheese on the top.

4. Potted shrimps - tiny brown shrimps, typically from Morecombe Bay, potted with melted butter and seasoned with cayenne.

5. Baked cod stuffed with lemon and parsley stuffing.

6. Soused mackerel or herring - baked in vinegar with pickling spices, and served cold. I don't have a recipe, I'm afraid.

7. Fried herring roes on toast - v similar to sardines on toast.

Hope these help...
