I need some ideas for kids, to make a treat to eat for halloween, quick n easy?!
Answers: im a playgroup leader, and next week i want the kids to make a simple treat to eat, any ideas, like mayb decorating biscuits - how do we decorate them, or something simple, thankyou
Go down to the supermarket and get some BETTY CROCKER pre-made icing! Grab some food colouring and just mix it up and spread. They have some really cool sprinkles (like hundreds and thousands) that are shaped. I made Dinosaur cookies for the boys! BUT they do have Halloween ones out here, so I am sure they do in Melbourne.
Make it easy for you put the sprinkles in a saucer and dip the iced biscuit less mess that way. Also DON'T used too much food colouring or the kids will be shitty that colour for a week.
Get some shape cutters to cut the dough with and you can make all kinds of things.
Andrew's sister's birthday is on Halloween and last year I made her a cake, that looked like a pumpkin (what ever the American's call them). Just get a simple cake mix (make it up following the directions). Then use some more of that lovely BETTY CROCKER icing died orange. The just put a few chocolate biscuits on for eyes and mouth. You know what I mean.
I will be back, I had a few recipes out of a magazine for Halloween. I will see if I can find them.

(MY boys LOVE bird poop)
Make some fruit salad for them to enjoy too!! When you make the biscuits, make them larger than a normal one. Little kids need lots of space to make their art work.
Basic Cookie Dough Recipe
This basic cookie dough recipe can be used for delicious decorated Halloween cookies and is so easy to make. After the dough is mixed and chilled, use your imagination and decorate your cookies with M&Ms, licorice, candy, cake decoration gel and frosting. Make pumpkins, spiders, ghosts and jack-o-lantern cookies!
Recipe Ingredients
1 c. (2 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 c. granulated sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar - lightly packed
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
method:
Put the butter, both sugars, salt and the baking soda in a large mixing bowl and beat with a mixer for about 3 minutes. Blend in the eggs and vanilla extract. Reduce the mixer speed and add the flour gradually.
This cookie dough is best used when chilled so try to mix it up ahead of time to allow for a couple hours in the refrigerator. Chill between batches.
Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes on an un-greased cookie sheet.
