Leave pumpkins in my car?!

Question: I bought a couple of pumpkins today because my friends and I were planning on carving pumpkins but we were unable to. So my question is, is it okay if I leave them in my car until we do? At night it gets down to about 55-60 degrees but in the days it heats up, like today it got up to 80 degrees. The heat (or cold) isn't going to ruin them is it? Should I bring them inside? They're heavy so I'd rather not if I didn't have to. I don't mean to sound stupid, I just don't know much about pumpkins. Thanks in advance guys!! :)

Yes, take them inside or at least take them out of the car. Rotten pumpkin is a nasty smell.
