What is pigs in a blanket?!

Question: My mom used to make them with vienna sausages wrapped in the tube crescent dough from pilsbury, then bake them.
Sounds kinda gross now, but I loved them.

sausage rolled up in a pancake or baked in a crescent roll...it can also be a hot dog baked in a crescent roll

It's a hot dog wrapped up in pastry. Cut into bite sized pieces than cooked. Used for an appetizer at a party.

yep thats what it is. hot dog in a roll

a hotdog with bread wrapped around it. Its a southern food!

little miniture hot dogs wrapped up in a crispy cressant or roll usually baked and served with ketchup of mustard

I make them with bisquits, barbecue sauce, shredded cheese, and little smokies sausage.

it's sausage or a hotdog rolled up in a pastry and baked then normally cut up into pieces and served as an appetizer. They can be a lot of fun for children around holidays if you mix a few drops of food coloring into the pastry and bake or stick raisins as eyes or ketchup and mustard drawn on as faces.

To help answer the question I have included a recipe.

Basically just a sausage or a hot dog wrapped up in biscuit dough shaped up like a blanket or even sometimes a diaper but it isn't too appetizing sound and then it is baked and served usually with mustard.

Some people use hot dogs and cut them up others use the can Vienna sausage. In most cases you wrapped them in the Pillsbury crescent rolls or some other type of refrigerate dough… taking a triangle piece and cutting it in half… Place the hot dog/sausage on the small side and start rolling the dough. To make them a little different you can add a slice of cheese or honey mustard adds a nice flavor. Be creative make them unique… try placing pepperoni and cheese with them they make a nice and easy hordourves and go over well at most occasions.

Here is a recipe that I have used and works well:

2 cups Bisquick
1/2 cup cold milk
12 hot dogs
2 tbls melted butter

Stir Bisquick and milk together, Kneed on a floured surface and pat into a 12 inch square. Cut into 12 (4x3 inch) pieces. Wrap each rectangle around a hot dog… pinch to seal… brush with melted butter bake @325 for 10-15 mins…

basically any Frankfuter/encased meat product wrapped in anythign else, My Grandmother used to make a pig in a blanket that still nausiates me to this day, she took a hot dot, split it half way lengthwise and put mashed potatoes generously in the split then wrapped sliced cheese around it. and baked it (the stuff was alreay cooked too so she baked it just long enough to melt the cheese a bit)

the most wonderful prize/food ever. it equals love
