After 33 years I want to stop being a vegetarian. Any thoughts / advice?!
I now think that starting to eat meat would be a good idea to get some protein in and go with what feels 'natural'.
Please give advice or ideas including what to try first...
Answers: I have no moral objections to meat, but was raised as a vegetarian.

Same here, a carnivore raised amongst veggies! Start very light and small for at least a month. Everybody's metabolism is different, so the timing may be more or less for you. Meat makes your body work more slowly so you may feel nauseated, sluggish, unable to mentally focus as well, and be constipated. Try a few bites of chicken for a few days and see how you react. Judge by the results, whether to move on to either larger amounts of chicken or to go to red meat. For red meat, I would try to stay away from hamburger as an introduction and go with a really good (small) piece of steak.
It's good that finally u started thinking and getting smart, try fried chicken well done with crispy skin
prime rib au jus. let your first experience be a good one.
Go slowly, my friend was a vegetarian for 5 years, and when he came back to eating meat he said it made his stomach hurt. He was never a man of moderation, so I think he hopped right into a steak. Take it slow, eating choice cuts and small portions. You should be fine.
Get you a Rib Eye steak and potatoes,or stay vegie and get you some http://gnc.com http://www.gnc.com/product/index.jsp?pro...
I'd go easy...maybe start with a little fish then a little chicken. Your body isn't used to rich meat yet, and you don't want to overdo it until it gets adjusted to digesting meat.
well be careful my friends a veggie shes been 1 4 8yrs and she tried eating some meat and she got sick.
My eldest Child was a veg.SHe passed a steak house famous for prime rib.She went in ordered one and has never looked back.Oh, btw, she just graduated culinary school.
juz do what u wan to do
I suggest you start with chicken or beef based broths / soups. Then when you feel up to it start adding some bits of meat to the soups... go slow and you'll go steady.
Are you sure? Being a raised vegetarian you know that your body does not need meat to get proteins or any other nutrion for that matter.
Before trying meat, why not try some protein rich foods like cheese or tofu, if your body is seriously lacking this. Perhaps try some meat replacers if you are not already eating those.
The impact to you and your family by turning your back on vegetarisme is not to be taken lightly, something the meat eaters advising you will never understand. Do some soulsearching before you tuck into a corpse.
