What hand do you use to cut up steak?!


Question: So when im out eating, wether its pancakes or steak or something that needs to be cut in pieces, i never know which hand you are supposed to hold the knife. So which hand do you hold the knife in?

Personally...
I use my right hand to hold the knife, and my left to hold the fork when cutting steak.

if you are right handed, hold the knife with your right hand.
if you are left handed, hold the knife with your left

i use my third hand to cut it up

The table should always be set according to what side you are supposed to hold the silverware on. Fork is always on the left, knife on the right. Some people switch hands after they cut the meat to eat with the right hand but it is not how it is supposed to be done. It is the American style to switch hands. No one would look at you funny if you did it. I found a site explaining it all.
