Why don't M&M's have seams?!

Question: there's no seam around em... how do they do that?

Answers: there's no seam around em... how do they do that?

The coating is applied while they are in a rotating drum, then as they are rotating oil is sprayed on them to make them shine. then they placed on a vibrating conveyor belt with small cups that they vibrate into so they can pass under a roller that places the logo on them, then each color is placed into a huge round bin that rotates and releases each color in various amounts to conform with how many of each are needed for a particular batch then they are sent to packaging .(there are several layers coated on each piece, bite one and look close and you will see)
Hope this helps, Have a Great Day!!!

The coating is put on in a revolving drum making them seamless.

They dip the M&M in the chocolate

because its more than likely sprayed on

watvh How Its Made once in a while! great show to learn stuff like that! they coat the chocolate evenly in a drum

They have to have seams somewhere - they are just cleverly covered up. Probably a gov't conspiracy or something.

They pour the candy coating over the chocolate.
