Is a 'mince pie' the same thing as a 'mincemeat pie'?!

Question: Yes, they are the same. Mincemeat doesn't contain meat any more but in the olden days it used to contain actual minced meat with spices and dried fruits - so that's where the name originates from and why the texture of todaqy's vegetarian product is so much like actual miced meat.

Generally speaking, mincemeat pie contains meat, fruit, sugar, spices, sometimes alcohol. I don't think it's as popular today as it once was as people are put off by the idea of having beef in their pie (my grandmother makes a great mincemeat pie!).

Mince pie is almost the same thing--just no meat.

dont know but i think there gross.
