A friend told me about this one years ago. If you like hot chocolate, make a cup and add (to taste) some buttershots. (it's butterscotch schnapps) Or you can add peppermint or cinnamon flavored schnapps...warm and cozy. WARNING, it is sweet.

Good ole hot chocolate!

English breakfast Tea with a slice of lemon in it. Or whisky and lemon. Or the classic favourite Mulled wine!

Hot buttered rum -

hot spiced cider

warm milk and rum (or bourbon)

Hot chocolate with vodka, or with creme de cacao, or with amaretto

Hot Apple Cider. Add cinnamon to a cold mug of apple cider then put in microwave for 45 seconds. Heats me up right away!

If you like coffee, a very simple thing is to add a teaspoon or two of instant hot chocolate powder to it. Add some creamer for real comfort.

My REAL favorite from childhood was Russian Tea. My Gram used to make it. Yummo

RUSSIAN TEA

INGREDIENTS
2 cups orange-flavored drink mix (e.g. Tang)
2 cups white sugar
1/4 cup instant tea powder
3/4 cup lemon-flavored instant tea powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cloves

DIRECTIONS
In a large bowl, combine orange drink mix, sugar, tea powder, cinnamon and cloves. Mix well and store in an airtight container.
To serve, put 3 teaspoons of mix in a mug. Stir in 1 cup boiling water. Adjust to taste.

Hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps.

Chai tea......umm

3 oz white grape juice
3 oz dry cider
1 tsp honey
1 cinnamon stick
1 slice lemon

Heat gently in a small saucepan, strain into a heat-proof cup, and serve. Hope you like it.

hot cider, and to make it sassy if you want you can spike it with some apple brandy :)

I have a number of favorites during the chilly seasons. Mulled cider is yummy and it's a great time of year to visit the cider mills. All you have to do is heat up cider with any spices that float your boat - cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, ginger, orange peel... I throw cinnamon sticks and cloves in mine and a friend likes to add maple syrup. It makes the house smell good, too. I also like hot milk with honey, vanilla, and spices. It takes kind of like custard. Closer to Christmas, I sometimes put peppermint schnapps in my hot milk instead, or in homemade hot chocolate.

A Hot Toddy...

1 tbsp honey
3/4 glass tea
2 shots brandy
Pat of butter

Brew tea and fill a tall glass 3/4 full. Mix in honey. Mix in brandy shots.

Top with butter and let it melt...

dear God.
