Answers: Salt is only one type of sodium some which are edible but many are not they are poisnus. Salt is sodium chloride or NaCl basicaly 1 sodium molecule and 1 chlorine molecule makes a table salt molecule.
Yes sodium is salt. So when you are looking at the labels of a food product that is what you want to look at...sodium. I personally do not use any salt because there is soooo much salt in out food we buy adding more is totally unnecessary.
Salt provides sodium, but to make table salt you also need Cholorine. Salt is NaCl, straight sodium is Na.
