Pineapple!!?!
Answers: My mom bought a pineapple this weekend, but she doesn't know how to tell if it's ripe so she can cut it. Can you tell me how to tell if a pineapple is ripe enough??
Selection & Storage
Pineapples should look fresh with deep green leaves that show no yellowing, browning or dryness. It is imperative to select pineapples that are fully ripe since pineapples lack a starch reserve, like some other fruit, so they will not ripen or get any sweeter after they are picked. Tugging at the inner leaves of the crown to see if one comes out more easily or thumping their sides is not an indicator of ripeness.
The most important thing is the smell. Ripe pineapples should give off a good, fresh tropical smell, so avoid pineapples that give of an unpleasant odor or have any discoloration of the skin. Also avoid pineapples that have soft spots and dark or watery eyes. The eyes of the pineapple are those thorny studs within the puffy squares of the skin.

if you can pull out one of the leaves on top easily, then its ripe.
I would cut it..pineapples do not rippen any more after being picked.
One way is to see if its a goldish yellow color, also when its ripe the stem,(green leafy part) will twist off very easy.
Skippy say to tell if pineapple is ripe you lick it on all sides. If it taste the same on all sides, it ripe.
Turn the pineapple upside down and smell the bottom. If it smells like a pineapple then it's ripe. If there isn't a smell then it isn't ripe and needs to sit .
Its already riped because your local supermarkets are selling ripe fruits not unripe all supermarket are selling ripe fruit they know that they are ripe or not ripe.
They want to please their costumers
If you can pull the leaves at the top without much of a struggle, then its ready, it should also give in a little when you press with your thumbs as you're holding it.
