Tootsie Pop wrappers....?!
Answers: i seem to remember there being something special about gettng one of the wrappers with a little boy dressed as an Indian with a star next to him. you were supposed to collect so many of those for something. does anyone remember what it is and if they still do that??? or how to contact the Tootsie co.??
Many years ago, a rumor surfaced that said if the wrapper of a Tootsie Pop with a star was found and returned to the company, a free Tootsie Pop, or any number of things would be sent to the lucky person. We truly don't know why or where this rumor started, as our records do not indicate that our company ever sponsored any type of promotion surrounding images on the wrapper.
Lol I totally remember that and ever Halloween that memory sparks up as my nephew brings home his bag of candies. I remember kids talking about that on saturday mornings before swim meets. And they said if you take it to a 7-11 you get a free one. I don't think I ever did, but the feeling of being special for a few minutes when finding one was enough to make any kid happy.
Actually, the "penny candy" store down the street from me used to give you a free Tootsie pop if you found the little boy dressed as an Indian shooting a star w/ a bow & arrow. But, I think that was just something they did for the neighborhood kids on their own & not through Tootsie Co.
Man...my fave will always be the chocolate tootsie pop.
I forgot ALL about that!! My Kids use to collect them all the time! I never knew why either...lol, I would like to know the answer to this question too! Good Question, Good Question.
