Does brand name of green tea make a difference?!

Question: I don't buy a popular brand name. Does that make a difference? I seem to be doing fine though. Just curious about the quality of the tea I buy. Should I be buying a top quality brand? What would be the problem in buying a not so popular brand? Thank you for your answers.

Yeah, the difference are on the taste, color and price usually. But it should works the same for our body though. The taste and color difference usually cause by different farms and methods they use when they picked the tea-leaves and how they dried it. It may affect the quality too i think. But popular brand does NOT guarantee quality, u should try it urself and feel the difference. If u cant feel the different, then just pick whichever taste better :) Just make sure that the tea ure buying really contains green tea only, some would mixed it up with red or black tea leaves too. Green tea has more anti-oxidants then other teas, it could fight ageing and free radicals out there. ^^ peace out!!

yeah it taste a little different

no it does not, tea is tea

I think that getting it fresher is better, and drinking 2 cups a day is more important, then the brand.

Japanese green tea is the best. yamamoto yama

Does it make a different regarding what exactly?
I personally like some of the less expensive green tea brands available. I drink Bigelow green tea every morning at work and I love it's taste. I was given a really expensive type of green tea last christmas and while it was still good, I didn't like it as much as the cheap kind. So I guess it's just what you prefer. They all have the same health benefits.

I am sure it matters some, it is no different than buying cheaper coffee and more expensive good coffee...the quality of leaves are going to be different. I have always used Lipton, they are not that expensive and it tastes good. If you are happy with it, then no problem. If you are more concerned on the medicinal value, that's a toughie to answer.

Not really I used to buy a lot of the things I like at the local supermarket & I saw this Family Dollar store close to where I moved to I now buy a few of the things I use to pay 3 4 dollars for a buck . It might not be the same (expensive) brands I use to buy but once I tasted them it WAS the same.

yes but no the reason i say yes is because if you want to lose wait than pick the green tea with vitamins a&c but if you just want to drink healthy no.

Well, as far as I know it is mostly a taste issue. I have tried various brands from Tazo to Twinings, to Republic of tea, etc. I find the more reputable the tea company, the better the tea tastes. Also, loose tea has the best flavor and only higher end companies, usually, provide loose tea since it requires longer tea leaves after cutting. The cheaper brands can get away with using the tea crumbs left over from processing thereby reducing their cost and minimizing waste. If you feel well and enjoy your tea, I wouldn't see a reason to force yourself to buy more expensive tea. Cheers!

I tend to buy the loose leaves the taste is better no fillers. I think its more healthy cause they dont put junk in it most package tea has extras i dont want. U can buy loose leaf at whole foods and some Asian markets

yes with the taste

studies have actully shown that products that are not brand name are usually better for you and may have a better taste, aslo they are a lot less expensive!

no it really doesn't but i guess it all depends on the person. i personally have 12 different kinds of green tea in my cupboard right now and i like some more than others.

Normally it shouldn't matter. I don't drink it but my daughter does and she does try to go for fair trade produce but that is about it - she does shop at our local sainsbury store mostly so it could be they do stock the fair trade one I know they do the fair trade coffee. Hope this info helps a bit.
