Is it safe to eat these eggs? The expiration date was a month ago!?!
Also - I've already put them in the water to boil. When I put them in, one side sort of floated up to the top.
Thanks :]
Answers: The date on the carton is September 26th. Today is October 30th. That's over a month ... I read somewhere that eggs will last 3 to 4 weeks after the expiration date ... do you think it has been too long?

eww they are too old. PLEASE do not eat them....that is gross, if you want some eggs i will be more than happy to buy you some!
<3 i hope you can find something better to eat.
Nope. I wouldn't risk it.
Especially if they floated. I heard once that one way to test if eggs are ok is to put them into a bowl of water. If they float, they're not ok.
They should be fine.
Crack one open, and your nose will soon tell you if they are safe or not.
If in Doubt,
Chuck 'em Out.
I wish I can help you, but mine never last that long.
If you have any doubts, just get rid of it.
Food products have expiration dates for a good reason ... just trash your eggs then go to the supermarket and buy a new carton for yourself ...
I found this info!
Is it safe to use eggs after the "sell by" or expiration date has passed?
Yes. "Sell by" or expiration codes indicate freshness, not necessarily wholesomeness. Since egg quality deteriorates over time, "sell by" dates are used to ensure the grade specified on the label is accurate. If stored properly, eggs may be safely consumed several weeks beyond the expiration date.
I don't always refrigerate my eggs. Even then, eggs last a long time if they have no cracks. Refrigeration makes them last even longer. If I'm not sure if my eggs are OK, I break each one individually into a cup or a bowl. If an egg is bad, you will know very quickly by the bad smell!
Sometimes recipes call for the eggs to remain raw or slightly cooked. Be extremely careful to use very fresh & refrigerated eggs. I have also seen certified eggs especially for egg nogs & merengues around the holidays.
