Whats the best tool to use to cut a face in a pumpkin? Using a steak knife without success, HELP!!!?!

Question: Debbie,
Please, don't listen to Fasteddy, a female with a power tool, I think not, disaster can only follow.
Actually, I'm not that happy with you lot walking around with a steak knife either.
Use a pallet knife or just stare at it, it'll soon conform!!!

Only kidding, before you look out even bigger knives!!
Err, happy Halloween.......;-)

pairing knife, works

BLOWTORCH

a pumpkin saw

Cant beat a good old Stanly knife, but remember, be careful!

I actually have always used exacto knives, it usually takes the bigger, longer, blades. I'm an artist so when I do pumpkins I REALLY do pumpkins and I need the precision of the exacto.

a steak knife is for cutting meat, try using a pearing knife.

A long thin knife , like the kind you filet fish with, but sharp enough to easily cut carrots.

You can buy special pumpkin carving knifes at a hardware store.

a steak knife will work if you use a sawing motion..not ment to just be drug...

I have used an electric jig saw very easy and accurate .

Nip down to your local supermarket they sell pumpkin kits for a few £s and they are a god send.

If you cant do that try a

blade from a saw or a small chisel
Paring/vegetable knife
Spoon

Good luck and hope your having lots of fun x

Pumpkin carving tools are best, but if you are in a hurry and want to improvise...try a jigsaw (if you're good with power tools) and if not that, you can try a paring knife.

a pairing knife darling, but be sure when you do it, use it like a saw downward slowly until you reach the pattern edge. Then roll the pumpkin then cut again by sawing style. Hope you get me what i mean. good luck
