I eat popcorn almost every day. I love it and it makes me happy, but can too much be too much?!
Answers: I pop my own, stove top, with extra virgin olive oil and some kosher salt. Nix besser.
Wow, those are some dumb answers.
Too much fiber (the outside covering of the kernal) can aggravate people's digestive tracts if they have pre-existing medical problems. Otherwise, we should all be getting plenty of fiber in our diets. If you are otherwise healthy, the fiber is good for you, keeping your bowels moving and even lowering cholesterol.
The only bad things in popcorn are too much oil and salt. You're using a heart-healthy oil, and reasonable amounts of fats are a necessary part of a healthy diet. Too much salt can be bad. One possible idea if you think you're eating too much salt is to switch to using a tiny amount of pickling salt. This superfine salt will coat the popcorn better than kosher salt, which has huge grains and doesn't stick.
Otherwise, go for it. Popcorn rocks.
Yes. The shells of the kernel can get lodged in your colon and cause issues later. Same w/ peanuts, celery and a few other foods.
If you are big on popcorn. Keep your Dr. informed so he can keep an eye on your backside.
not if you pop your own but I don't think the kernels are good for your digestive tract.
