Why are Honeycrisp apples so expensive?!

Question: Fuji, Gala,Pink Lady were all the same way when they were still new on the market. Honeycrisp trees have been available for quite a few years now but are just now becoming mature enough in commercial orchards to be common in stores. This is the first year I have seen them in markets, although they have been available in Farmers markets for a few years. Look for the price to normalize as the supply increases over the next few years.

Because they are very seasonal and only grown in certain areas - and bcz they taste amazing!

I wondered myself, but I have one left. I'm trying to hang on lol, they were like 4 for $5.00. But I must admit each and every one of them are good. Not like other apples where one may be good the next not so.
