Is this Healthy???!

Question: Is my food intake healthy? For breakfast I have a bowl of Reeses Puffs and ocassionaly bacon or toast and eggs. For lunch I have a school lunch which is usually a chicken sandwich or hamburger with a bit of fries or mashpotatoes. Sometimes corn. For dinner my dad cooks big containers of all natural sphegetti. He cooks a pot of sauce and puts it in a container, then cooks fresh noodles. The sauce contains a few small cans of Hunts Tomato Sauce, tomatoes, basil or celantro, ground beef, garlic, celery, red onions, berbede (a strong spice) and salt. But I'm trying to get him to start buying me casear salads for dinner too. So, is this healthy???

Yes, to %80 of what you are saying.

First of all, it highly depends on your age, but as you are mentioning about school, you are fine (if you are over 40~50 years old, then you should be very caucious about food).

I see some cholesterol foods in your food list.

Moderate amount of cholesterol is okay, but not too much.

I found your breakfest and lunch to be little bit caucious.

Egg, bacon, hamberger, french fries all have high cholesterols.

For your cereal, I highly recommend you oat meal. The Reeses Puffs may be tastey, but they have high sugar content. It may make you obese (but as long as you eat it at morning and excercise 1 hours per a day for 4 times a week, you will be fine).

Garlic, red onions, some salt (but not too much!! 1/2 of tea spoon is enough) are good.

No, no berbede! The strong spice may elevate your blood pressure level and may not be good for your heart (although occational take is okay). But once again, you are young, so taking it 2~3 times a week is okay.

Ground beef? Well... can you try regular beef? I heard some bad rumers of any grounded food. Too much fat and most of all, they make the meat grounded so that you can't tell if they used the bad parts of the meat.

Sure, natural spegetties are good. Moderate amount of carbohydrate is what you need for the energy and nutrition.

I definatelly recommend you cesear salad!!! (as long as the dressing does not contain too much sugar. Look at the nutrition facts of the container, and if the sugar exceeds 5 grams, don't buy it.)

Chicken sandwich is a perfect for your health. In fact, you may eat chicken almost everyday (but avoid eating pork and beef everyday. You may eat them once or twice a week. Eating too much may cause you heart problem).

Yes, you need to eat mashpotatoes for your health- as long as low on sugar.

Overall, your choice of food is pretty good. And you excercise a lot. It's good for you (I bet you look cute : )

Nice knowing you, and I hope you live healthy as you wish.

One more thing to add: from your breakfest list, I found possible high salt content (bacon and cooked eggs). You may either drink 4~5 cups of water spread during the day, or cut down on adding the salt.

do you work it off?

yes..... its fine

dont get too worried about it

personally i think your diet and fitness life is extremely healthy. its not like ur eating brownies for breakfast or really greasy foods, your also getting exercise, keep up the good work!! ^-^

if you think it has a good results then why not.

reeses puffs contain alot of sugar... toast, eggs, and bacon are healthy because they have protein in ir.. ur lunch is pretty much ok.. but there's lots of fat in them... and spaghetti is a good choice for dinner... instead of having ur dad buy u casar salad for dinner, have him buy it for you for lunch.

You can eat whatever you want as long as you take in some good foods too! and have a lot of exercise!

yes thats basicly what i eat except what u eat for dinner ...beef and any other kind of meat ..dont fry it hunny bake it or microwave it and drain the fat

Your BMI(Body Mass Index), your weight, your waist to hip ratio, your nature of work, age, Blood pressure all will decide.

Your food intake isn't healthy. Sugary cereal isn't good for you, it also doesn't fill you up, it is just sugar.Good breakfast can actually affect your thinking at school. A good alternative is wheat bread(it isn't as bad as you think), yougurt, fruit, or non-sugary cereal. Toast(wheat),and eggs(egg beaters) are okay. But bacon is really bad for you, it is just grease and fat (pig's butt actually) School lunches are really bad for. I suggest packing a sack lunch. It may be "lame" or whatever but you will be the one who lives longer and doesn't get diseases. For a sack lunch; sandwiches are okay(turkey), fruit, vegetables(salad or carrots), and healthy crackers. As for your dinner spaghetti is healthy but you should have a salad too. Ceasar salad is okay but the healthiest dressing is vinagerettes. Also as for the excersing in p.e. that's great. If you keep it up you will be in shape and eating healthy. A great combination.

I think you are eating way too many junk carbs (bread, fries, potatoes, cereal, spaghetti), and too much fat. You can get away with that while you are young, but the older you get the more it takes its toll on your health.

I recommend lots more fresh fruits and veges. Yes, definitely add the salad for dinner, and eat more of that than pasta. You can add just about anything to a salad to make it healthier and more interesting. You dad is putting good stuff in the sauce, and he is making it from scratch, so you are very lucky there. See if once in a while he will try using ground turkey instead of ground beef. It has lots less fat, and works well in sauce.

How you will feel when you are 50 depends upon the choices you make now. Do you want to be fat and decrepit or trim, lively and vital?
