Answers: yes- the reason is because turkey contains L-tryptophan, a necessary amino acid with documented sleepyness as a side effect--YUM

i find turkey dry ,so i tend to drink more.

depends how chewy

its not just the turkey its the combination of beer Turkey tatties veg cranberry sauce and pudding

The diversion of blood to the digestive system causes the sleepiness.

A turkey sandwich, no I don't get sleepy. A huge turkey dinner, ala Thanksgiving with all the trimmings, yes, probably because I spent all morning in the kitchen cooking the meal then ate entirely too much. LOL

Yes,tryptophan is why. Ever wonder why everyone fell asleep during the ball games after thanksgiving dinner?

i eat half a pound of turkey breast everyday for lunch but i don't feel sleepy, I only feel sleepy when I eat the ones for thanksgiving(soaked in beer).

No, I only eat a moderate amount at occasions that warrant this, and it does not make me too sleepy if ever.
