How long does turkey bacon stay good in your refrigerator??!

Question: I have an unopened package from a week ago. The expiration date is not for a while, but expiration dates are really meant for food kept at grocery-store cold temperatures. Anyone? Thanks.

Usually packaged food like bacon, turkey bacon, sausages of any kind, hot dogs, and lunch meat will keep for as much 1 week after the expiration date on the package. The grocery stores only freeze the stuff like fresh chicken and beef, etc. The packaged meats are only refrigerated. If you have something like turkey bacon and you are not going to use it right away, freeze it and mark how many days are left until it expires when you freeze it and mark those days on the package in ink. When you thaw it to use it, you will still have that many days left until it expires. I live alone and when I buy meat of any kind, I break the package down into meals and put them in freezer bags and only thaw out what I am going to use for the next few days. This way you don't have to worry as much about it going out of date.

maybe a week
