Rachel Ray? Has she gone overboard?!
It irritates me when she talks about cooking with our children, because she has no idea what it's like to have children. I also don't like to hear the words "affordable" out of her mouth, because to me it's like she's pretending to have a budget when we all know that she could buy and sell most of us. In general I enjoy her, but I'm thinking she's sort of becoming a whore for the advertising industry. Is she simply striking while the iron is hot? Because we all know that eventually the woman has GOT to run out of recipes. Won't she? What are your thoughts?
Answers: She's got several different television shows, she's at Dunkin Donuts, she is on the Ritz Cracker box, she is on the magazine stand! In short, the girl is everywhere! I like her, she is high energy (sometimes goes overboard), she's got great recipes (most of the time) and she is more down to earth than some of the other TV personality chefs, HOWEVER...

I agree with what you are saying. She is definitely over exposed right now. I liked her a lot before. Now I am tired of seeing her everywhere. Overload! I don't even care if I watch 30 minute meals anymore. My bet is that she is taking advantage of the opportunities while they are there; you never know when you are going to be a "has-been". Unfortunately, I think that this indiscretion will speed up the process. She should be more selective in the quality and quantity of her projects.

I smell jeolousy. Dont worry. If shes going overboard, then shes going overboard. Who cares. Shes trying to promote herself more! She says the stuff about affordable for the veiwers so we'll know what is good on prices and whats not! Duh! She's just trying to help us out a little bit! Duh!!!!
i have gotten some descent ideas from watching her show but like you she has gotten to be the same old thing so i dont watch but maybe once a week now and cook-books are everywhere
I find her recipes affordable, and I cook with my kids alot. Just because she does not have kids of her own does not mean she does not have access to kids to bring into the kitchen. You do kids a disservice by not teaching them their way around a kitchen. Home cooked food is generally healthier and cheaper than prepackaged junk, but you have to know how to get it from point A to B and all the spices, skins, and slices in between.
I don't cook and I like her shows. She has that certain something.

When you're hot you're hot. In today's TV world when you are hot you do as much as possible, to make as much money as possible, because it could be just next week when you are yesterday's news.
she can be a little overbaord i think it more that they saw her potetntial and she cant say no, she knows about a budget thoguh shes not a classically trained chef just a person who know how to cook, shes lived as we do just making it by paycheck to paycheck and i to like her but shes a little overly joyful at times its kinda scary
She went overboard a looooong time ago. I find her very annoying. I hate hearing "EVOO" and "affordable" --??? yeah, right. Almost everything she uses is already partially cooked or "pre-made". I mean, there is a place for that. There are people who need that help if not all the time then sometimes and that's how she started out by trying to promote items in the supermarket by showing ppl what they could make with it but....it has gone too far and guess what? You could save a lot more money w/o buying prepackaged foods and reinventing things to do with them. It might take more time but if you plan it right it doesn't really need to as you could make extra sauce and freeze part of it to use for later etc.
I've watches a few episodes of her and bought the magazine a couple of times to look for new ideas but it is too much! She has an odd cult like following by some ppl and she is probably a closet alcoholic.
