If everything is so bad for you according to the 'experts'?!

Question: Causing cancer and killing people, etc then how do you explain people in the South for example who are famous for eating greasy foods (and other things that supposedly are deadly in the long run) and who are well into their 70s-90s and still healthy? Kinda makes the "experts" seem like they don't know what they're talking about anymore, doesn't it?

you know what, i just dont care what these 'experts' say anymore. im SICK of hearing about it. Everytime i walk out my house im inhaling toxic gases and fumes. if anyone was thats concerned then the government would cut all these nasty additives and chemicals they are adding to ALL of our food.

Exactly what facts are you using to support that statement?

Well, the experts do have (in most cases) scientific proof that certain things CAN cause cancer and other diseases. Having said that, we have to remember that not everyone's body works exactly the same. It just depends on the person. I just stick to the "everything in moderation" philosophy. I do agree with you, though.

Actually, if you look at the rates of obesity and heart disease, the South is high on the list.

Also, for those people that live into their 70's and 90's are relatively thin which means they live a more moderate lifestyle. You will find very few obese 70 to 90 year olds.

I just came back from the South. You'd better go down there and take another look. Its the worst health I've ever seen in the U.S., and I've been in every region.

Yeah, I don't listen to the "experts"
I'm an expert for my own body, I know what my body likes and doesn't like and what is healthy for it and what it can handle.
I'm lactose intolerant, so I drink lactaid milk.
I like meat (they're now saying that pork can cause you to die sooner). I love pork chops, chicken, bacon, pork roll, hotdogs, especially a nice well done steak.. but you know what if that's so wrong, I don't want to be right.
I still eat vegetables all the time (corn, peas, carrots, spincah, potatos, broccoli, cauliflower, squash, etc)
I love eating fruit salad, but you know they're always going to find something wrong with what we eat.
I say to hell with their opinions, i'm sticking to what I enjoy. I know how to control my eating habits.

Most of these people worked at hard physical labor during their lifetime, and ate farm raised meats and vegetables. Their children, however, are eating much more fast food, aren't getting any exercise, and have problems with heart, gall bladder, diabetes and obesity in epic proportions. Kind of makes you seem like you don't know what you're talking about anymore, doesn't it? Everything in moderation.

Everything is bad for you if you consume too much. Moderation is the key. Years ago people ate real butter, drank whole milk, ate meat, potatoes, and bread for every meal and stayed fit because they actually did physical work. I'm no expert but I think TV is the worst thing that ever happened to human health, probably worse than cigarettes.

You can say all you want, but try eating totally healthy for a month, and see how you feel. I don't know how old you are, or your weight, % of body fat, etc., but eating low fat foods, healthy carbs (whole grains, yams, etc.) in healthy portions not only tastes better, but it has proven to make one's overall health better. There is no doubt that keeping it healthy is better for you. If you know how to cook, you don't compromise good taste or quality by eating healthy. For instance, I don't eat white potatoes or french fries. But I bake sliced sw. potatoes in the oven, season them with rosemary and they come out slightly crispy and delicious. I don't care if I ever have another white potato french fry. There is no justifying eating greasy, fried foods as a regular diet and calling it healthy. Good luck trying to convince yourself though. And happy blocked arteries, heart attacks and strokes, and basically shortening your life by maybe as much as 20 years to you if you are considering totally foregoing the idea of eating heathy... or even healthier.
