Question: My mom says they stick to your insides. I eat them a lot and I was wondering if they are bad for you. I can eat a package a day. Thanks for your help.

Sunflower seeds are actually good for you with fatty acid called polyunsaturated fat, which is actually not unhealthy at all (in moderation) most brands of chips have switched to sunflower oil to cook their chips. The oil in a sunflower contains vitamin a and e and can help with asthma symptoms arthritis and inflammation. The only way that a sunflower seed is going to get suck inside of you is if you have a condition known as diverticulitis in which you can not eat and nuts or seeds because they get trapped in the folds of your intestinal tract, this is commonly seen in the elderly. But if your young and in good healthy otherwise, sunflower seeds are not harmful at all and are actually quite good for you! EAT ON!

too much sunflower seeds are but if you eat a regular amount then you'll be fine.

no. but if you eat the shell they can get stuck in your throat.

The seeds by themselves are fine....just as nutritious as any other nut product. The shells can cause damage to your teeth, dental tissues (cheeks, gums, tongue, etc), as well as cause damage to your esophagus and stomach, and sometimes your intestinal lining. So if you REALLY like the seeds, eat away (beware of fat & salt content!), but spit out the shells.

Hi, I love sunflower seeds and I can finish a packet a day too but I just eat it in moderate not too much. Every fortnightly I tink is enough.

No they're not bad for you and your mom is wrong.
