Well a mince pie is the Christmassy individual pie filled with dired mixed fruit, suet, alcohol etc. I suppose some people would also class a mincemeat pie as this, but others might think of a mincemeat pie as an actual meat pie (for example mince beef).

you get mince pies , which are made from meat
and you get mincemeat pies made from fruit
confusing i know , especially if you mix them up at xmas , lol
