I've forgotten to defrost something for dinner tonight will it be ok to just put something frozen like a pork!
Answers: chop on the George Foreman grill and let it cook like that or will it not cook all the way through.
NEVER cook Pork from frozen.
apart from the possibility of food poisoning the Pork will be tough and tasteless.
just go ahead
it should be fin i have done that type of thing often
It will probably be tough and not done. Defrost it in the microwave.
It should be fine if it is under an inch thick.Do you have a microwave to defrost it a bit first?
it will work
fill your sink or a large container enough to fit the chop in there with real hot water and let it stand for about an hour, your pork chop should be mainly thawed out by then.
No... it is very important to defrost otherwise it will not cook properly, undercooked pork is not good to eat, you could get intestinal worms!
NO... pork must be defrosted
It's okay to cook it frozen. It'll just take a little longer to cook. That's all.
Do you have a microwave? You could defrost the pork chops before cooking them. Or bake them in the oven, then finish them off in the grill.
take it out now, if its still not fully defrosted by tonight, defrost it in the microwave.
best you can do is heat the pork first to defrost the ice w/n the meat... put it in the microwave for 5 minutes... then when it's done, you can put some marinade on it and it's grilling time...
I don't think it will cook all the way through. Can you defrost it in your microwave (sometimes there is a "defrost" setting)? I don't know how long until dinner for you, but if it is a couple of hours, you can put the package of pork (with the plastic still on) in the sink, turn on the faucet (cool water) and let it run for bit. That helps to defrost it a bit more quickly - although it is wasteful of water.
No, that's NOT a good idea, especially with pork. You should defrost it in your microwave or put the pork chop in a plastic bag, then add some very cold water to a deep bowl or to oyur sink & put it into the cold water to thaw. Add some ice cubes to the water & it will hasten the defrosting time.
Yes, I have done this, but sometimes it overcooks on the outside, and is still frozen on the inside.
Better to defrost in the microwave, just sslightly...or wrap it in aluminum foil and place in oven.
don't you have a microwave to defrost it in????
put the pork chop in a pan with cold water and thaw it out, should only take about 25 minutes.
enjoy :)
Don't cook it from frozen!
It will give you food poisoning!
Put it in a bowl and run cold water over it - that will help it to defrost - it does take a while but whatever you do do not cook it before it is completely defrosted.
I would make something else instead!
Macaroni Cheese, Pasta and Pesto, Mushroom Risotto
ps. I'm not Vegetarian - just thinking of things without meat. Both for speed and simplicity!
Good Luck!
Not sure about that. I'd defrost it in the Microwave if you have one.
My husband the cook suggests you put it in the fridge & then by tonight stick it on the grill, it will still cook.
I hope one of these suggestions works for you.
soak it in a bowl of hot water for a while to get rid of some of the ice, then slow cook to make sure inside is cooked, stab to see if theres blood before serving
you can defrost stuff really fast in the microwave. and you can defrost stuff pretty fast but putting in HOT water.
All meat should be thoroughly defrosted before cooking. If you have a microwave use that or get a takeaway.
Processed meat like burgers, fishfingers etc may not need it (check the packing).
Fill your sink half full of cold (not hot - bacteria risk!) water. Put the chops in a ziploc plastic bag and push as much air out as possible. Put the bag in the water and make sure the chops stay under the water by putting a heavy pot on top. They will defrost in about an hour.
It will be fine as long as you cook it for longer on a lower heat otherwise the outside will be burned & the inside raw. If in doubt, make a cut in the centre when you think it is cooked, just to confirm that it actually IS.
No!!!! - Absolutely not, it needs to 'thaw' out thoroughly. If you have a microwave - put it in there on 'defrost' for a while. Alternatively, buy some 'fresh' meat on your way home - meat that ISN'T frozen and cook that.
you really should take it out in the morning and let it sit until it defrost a little bit then by the time 6:00 or 7 comes you can season it and hen thro it on the good old george Forman
Move the pork chops to the refrigerator.
If you're thinking of using a GF grill then the chops are probably less than an inch thick.
They should defrost nicely by the time you want to use them tonight.
If they don't take them out about an hour before you want to use them, wash them off, dry, season and let it come sit on the counter until you want to cook them.
