I can't for the life of me understand what strach is....?!


Question: i know it's bad apparently because every time theres like rice and potatoes or something, someone will be like, oh no, two starches, that isn't good, i don't really get it, what does it do???

Starches react in the body the same as carbohydrates. Carbohydrates change to sugar in the bloodstream. If your body doesn't use all the sugars up, they are converted to fat cells.

Hence--two starches equals lots of sugars that can become lots of fat cells. Unless you burn them off, that is. :)

Starch is a naturally abundant nutrient carbohydrate. Foods having a high content of starch are rice, breads, and potatoes. It is not that is bad for you is just that is like eating lentils and bean - too much of a good thing! The body uses carbohydrates to produce energy but if you have too much of it the it stores it as fat, hence people just try to eat one kind of starch.

you have to try and equally proportion carbs throughout the day...eating too much in one helping..is whats bad
