How come my juicyfruit gum turned into liquidish goop after chewing it for 5 hours?!

Question: it was soo gross i was making pudding and 5 hours after i put the juicyfruit into my mouth in just went to goop slowly...

I don't know why this happens, but I've heard of this happening to other people with the rolled up bubblicious gum.
