Where can I find liquid molasses in Britain?!

Question: I just moved to Leicester from Canada and I'm looking for something like Crosby's Fancy Molasses (a liquid molasses that is not cooking molasses. It's sweeter and has a different flavour).
I haven't seen it at the local Morrison's. Does it go by a different name or do you know of a store that carries it?

Cheers

I just happen to be a Canadian and former chef, your best to use the Black Treacle, it is essentiall the same, a bit more refined, it might be hard to find any of the Crosby brands in the UK, I worked in Jamaica and they used to have it.

ASNA has it but in your area you may be saddled with either a Morrisons or Tesco, even Sainsburys, but the treacle is fine or even Lyles golden syrup and and muscavado suagr in a 50/50 mix, the sugar is like the dark brown stuff we have here in Canad with alot of the residue molasses left in.

Holland and Barrett sell Blackstrap Molasses. You could perhaps substitute that. Or you could perhaps use treacle as Morrison's do sell Lyle's Treacle. I think the choice would depend on what you are making. Or you could try a 50:50 mix of Lyles Golden Syrup and Blackstrap Molasses or treacle.
The Crosby's website explains the difference between them so might help in making a choice of a suitable substitute.

Lyle's products (Golden syrup and treacle):

Best wishes.
