Why do we put stuffing in the turkey on Thanksgiving?!

Question: How did that tradition start?

Answers: How did that tradition start?

Nowadays, it's best to not put stuffing in the turkey, because if the cavity doesn't get warm enough, salmonella can be present in your turkey.

It is best to make your stuffing outside of the bird, and if you just HAVE to have it "in the bird"...place it inside the bird after you've completely cooked it.

The stuffing was to "dress" the turkey, the stuffing filled the cavity and helped the turkey retain it's shape after cooking.

because tur-key has the word key in it u put a key in a hole , therefore we pretend the stuffing is a key and out it in the hole.........of a tur-key

because americans wanna liven the turkey up a bit and pretend that it's their creation and not the Indians

Because it is delicious.

because it taste good =]

Well not everyone does. It's just what people like to do i guess.

MANY PEOPLE ANYMORE COOK STUFFING OUTSIDE THE BIRD BECAUSE OF THE CHANCE OF DISEASE FROM NOT BEING HOT ENOUGH.

Because people love to stuff things up animal butts?
