Edible Gold?!
Every day I read about yet another chef that makes some 100000$ dish with edible gold.
What the &@#$ is edible gold? Why should I want to eat it? How much calories does it have? How does our body respond to it?
Answers: OK, This has gone too far.

Edible gold is gold leaf... it's extremely thin gold. The body doesn't respond to it at all, it just passes through unaltered (with the exception of being broken up mechanically by chewing). It has no calories.
They put gold in goldschlager (alcohol). There are a few other food products with gold inside, and each is as dumb as the last.
Chefs are stupid. Who cares?
lolz! i have heard of this also... look it up in the guiness book of world records, the most expensive dessert in the whole world... it costs about $25,000 and i believe that it also contains edible gold...
There's really no reason to eat it. Unless you want to. It's just a uncommon ingreditn to dress up a desert like a cherry on top of an ice cream. I am unsure of the calories, but i think it's around 70.
What? That is so weird forget that! The next thig you know they'll be eating metal!
Our bodies pass the gold though unprocessed. Although, it is a heavy metal. So, maybe there are effects about which we don't know. I don't think anyone has put up any money to study this.
Why would you want to eat it? Because you have way too much money and don't want it anymore.
To me, edible gold is baked pumpkin! Yummo!
