Muscovado sugar (also called Barbados or moist sugar) : Muscovado sugar, a British specialty brown sugar, is very dark brown and has a particularly strong molasses flavor. The crystals are slightly coarser and stickier in texture than "regular" brown sugar.

Light and Dark brown muscovado sugars contain molasses; the darker the color is, the more molasses and therefore the stronger the flavour. They are used in the same way as light and dark brown soft sugars.
Substitution: If you can’t get muscovado, use a good quality dark brown sugar.
I got this by googleing muscovado sugar
You should be able to get vanilla beans from the cookery isle in your supermarket

Muscovado sugar, is a unrefined type of sugar with a strong molasses flavour. It is a moist sugar, it is very dark brown, and slightly coarser and stickier than most brown sugars.

Vanilla beans can be sought after in the supermarket section where you find your spices and condiments normally near the cinammon sticks in the 'spencers' packets. Otherwise try a local health food store.

hope it helps.

I know nothing about Vanilla Beans, but I live in Barbados and Muscovado sugar is a brand name for our exported brown crystal sugar. The name is actually Muscovado Gold and it is natural sugar made from sugar cane.
