Seems like the theme for the party should be a "welcome to America theme." Or a welcome home theme. So do something with that. Get some American flags, apple pie, anything that signifies America. BBQ some burgers and dogs, you can get that pretty cheap. If there is going to be alcohol get at least one type of American made beer or wine. Make a benner that says welcome home or something. Hope that helps.

I'm just commenting to see how many points I get for it. So, since I got best answer can I come to the party? Report It

Ok, so you don't get any points for a comment. Oh well. Report It

  • maybe you could get some real american food like burgers, hot dogs, ribs, french fries.....just have a cook out or even stay in if itr is cold and make some good soup....and then apple pie......if you think he would like it better make a dish from your home country!....i hope i could have helped

    Good going!

Simple party idea. Just cocktails - invite everyone over to toast your good fortune. Have simple snacks around - peanuts, cheese and crackers, maybe a fresh fruit tray.

You could just serve a signature cocktail. Maybe one that represents his homeland.

    Good luck!

have a potluck where every one brings s dish, and then there won't be such a big pressure on you to make tons of food.
