What's every ones favorite side dish at thanksgiving?!
Answers: turkey or ham doesn't count unless it's something special about the turkey i guess, i think mine's the mashed potatos
Macaroni and cheese is the greatest!!!
Candied Yams....yums
green bean casserole, all the way. my mom puts extra french fried onions on top, yum!!!
FRENCH FRIES!
mashed potatos with lots of gravy
Carmelized yams with walnuts. No marshmellows though!
Stuffing from inside the bird ranks up there too although there might be problems with food poisoning. I risk it sometimes because it's so good!
potatoe salad
Mashed potatoes with gravy. I find both green been casserole and sweet potatoes nearly inedible. Or oyster dressing or plain dressing.
mashed potatos with chunks and a hint of garlic!
cranberry sauce (not the chunky kind, the jelly kind) and a slightly spicy cornbread dressing (with celery & onions in it) with giblet gravy drizzled over the top... mmmmmm!!!!!
I also love a good pecan pie... mmmmm pie.... mmmm.... ok I'm hungry now...
Mashed Potatos and Gravy!! yummy
mine is mashed potatoes & gravy too.
Great. Now I need a midnight snack!
:)
It's Southern Style Cornbread Dressing...none of that Stovetop mess
Uh..... Thanksgiving food sucks.
deviled eggs mmm
I always dive for the traditional stuffing and garlic mashed and gravy first. The turkey can come later.
homemade dressing.
I love the stuffing, mm, mm, good
Mashed sweet potatos. Nothing but milk, butter, and salt on them (I hate sweet potatos/yams with sweetners like marshmellows on them.) I used to think that was what sweet potatos tasted like until I got a real true taste of them without all the other junk on it.
Well my favorite dish really consists of several things...I call it my thanksgiving sundae...in a bowl I first put mash potatoes and make it into a cup and into the cup I put turkey then the dressing and more mash potatoes to cover it...then I top it off with jellied cranberries and pour turkey gravy over the top...yum
Merliton dressing, macaroni and cheese from rockie and carlos, and mashed potatoes and gravy.....mmmm. Then its on to dessert!(The absolute best part), chocolate doberge cake! yum, can't wait for Turkey Day!!!
The Dressing As long as its Stovetop.
galic bread and sweet potatoes!! yum! i can't wait till thanksgiving!
Cornbread Dressing.... all the way ! I could eat nothing but a big plate of Cornbread Dressing..... yummmmmm.
what the heak is up with all the mash potatoes? I love mash potatoes also, but there is nothing special about them, you eat that all the time. Like at lest once every other week if not every week. So its not special. On Thanksgiving its all about the food you only get once or twice a year. mash potatoes are great..... but lets pick something special. Sweet potatoes rock and thats a great thanksgiving dish.... I like sweet potatoes anyway you make them. but in the end the Dressing is the winner, but sweet potatoes are a close runner up. Mashed potatoes dont even make it to the table on thanksgiving day..... however they better be there the following week with the pot roast lol
I like it ALL! But I have to admit, its not Thanksgiving without Cranberry salad ( recipe handed down from my grandma)It's not just plain cranberries, its got cranberries, strawberry jello, diced apples, diced celery, walnuts, and marshmallows in it. ( Sort of like a cranberry waldorf salad) Even ppl that I know who don't care for cranberries all that much, usually LOVE it!!... and if they don't? MORE FOR ME!!!
