Is it true that the cows blood touches the cows milk in the udder?!
Answers: I heard the milk gets the nutrients from the blood.
You know..... this is actually a great question. One for which I have no answer lol. I was in FFA for four years in high school and this never came up. I have been around livestock most of my life, it amazes me that I don't know this :).
As gross as it may sound, it would make sense if it did since blood does transport nutrients through our bodies. You gave me something to think about today! You get a star for this! Have a great day!
wow...i dont know the answer to that...but if what you say IS the case...i wont ever drink milk again!! YUK!!
Milk is ultra white and pure, its the lining that separates the two or else each would be contaminated by the other fluid.
Yes it is (although in tiny amounts).
And yes that's what blood does. It transports things around the body, including the raw materials to make milk.
edit: I'm a biomedical scientist so this is my proof (which may also get alittle technical but you asked for it lol). Erythrocytes (blood cells) travel around the body in your blood vessels: arteries, arterioles, capillaries, and veins. For diffusion of nutrients into cells, which occur in capillaries (which has a high penetrance in all tissues), the endothelium needs to be "leaky" for interstitial fluid to pass. Because of mechanical stress from the milking process, these capillaries can become damaged and hence a very tiny amount can go into milk. Also white blood cells can also be found in milk.
Blood transports the raw materials around the body.
NO>>>NO>>>>NO... where do you get this from?
Don't you think if milk came into contact with blood, it would be pink?
Honestly! And it isn't things in the blood that make nutrients in milk, it's the other way around!
Cows eat grass, grass gives cows vitamins, minerals etc to keep it healthy - the cows body takes the nutirents from the grass. Like we take nourishment from our food.
I don't think so . Milk is so good for us anyway. I wouldn't worry about stuff like that.
You really don't want to know, do you?
NO THAT IS NOT TRUE AT ALL, thank god, after you posted this question I went searching for the answer and this site is the answer.

I havent heard this before
I did some research and it is not true, I'm glad as I love milk.
Milk is produced in the udder . It is a gland.
The blood does carry the nutrients that nourish the udder.
The two don't intermingle.
The milk in this country is highly regulated. Our milk supply is very clean.
