Is there really a difference from buying frozen veggies vs. fresh?!

Question: Lately, when I've ventured into my local grocery stores, the veggies aren't exactly "fresh" looking, and I've opted to go with frozen vegetables. Am I losing or missing nutrients by choosing frozen over fresh? The frozen last longer, and are cheaper....all feedback is appreciated!

Just as good if not somewhat better since most are frozen at the "peak of freshness" and depending on the product it may have past that peak by the time it reached your local market.
However there can be a difference on some items texture wise. When they are frozen the ice crystals from the natural water in the vegetable or fruit can break cell walls changing the texture a little. For instant I don't like frozen bell peppers, they seem a little mushier than when I use fresh.

No, you are not losing nutrients. In fact, I recently heard that frozen veggies are actually better because they are flash frozen when they are harvested, so they actually hold their nutrients better than fresh. Fresh vegetable apparently lose nutrients as they are being transported to your local supermarket and sitting there waiting to be bought.

Nope. Frozen veggies are just as good.

i love frozen veggies, they are probably just as good as fresh sometimes because it's flash frozen to remain freshness, it doesn't have to travel across the ocean losing it's vitamins by the day like the fresh veggies

Tthe International Food Information Council says that fresh, frozen and canned vegetables are basically identical in nutritional value (though canned produce is often higher in sodium).

OK
As a single 67yo I really can't afford to buy much fresh veg's..
I buy one or two mushrooms and Roma tomatoes etc.. for spaghetti or pizza...
I do burger for a version of Salisbury steak and frozen green beans french cut and corn with mashed potatoes or rice with brown gravy.
If I have doing this for the past 30 years.. I can not claim any nutritional loss for any frozen or fresh foods..
so IT is all nonsense,,- - this health,, organic BS,, IF your foolish enough believe you've lost your way...
Eat well and have fun....

Well of course there is a difference Mookie. The fresh is always best. You have instant nutrients available that can be extracted. Frozen vegetables however is better than canned vegetables, and yes, it lasts longer. With the fresh vegetables you must cook them usually within 3 days or they go bad anyway. And depending on how you cook them, or if you eat fruit within the same 4 hours as you eat the veggies you may lose nutrients anyhow.
